We have a finalist among us! Congratulations to Mr. Burns for being selected as one of three finalists for Chemistry Teacher of the Year by the Orange County American Chemical Society. Good luck, Mr. Burns!

 

Congratulations to the Lions Golf Team for their victory yesterday against Orange High School. Today the Lions will go after their 4th Orange League win at home against Magnolia High School.

 

Ahhhh ACE!!! This week’s Game of the Week is Boy’s Volleyball!! Today the Lions will take on the Oceanview Seahawks at 4:30pm in the Lion’s Den. You don’t want to miss out!!

 

OCAD comes back from State Finals ranked 15th of all decathlon teams in California and ranked number 1 of all Orange County teams for Super Quiz! Congratulations to our hard working OCAD members. In addition, Nina Ho took a gold medal for her interview with a perfect score and a bronze for math while Jeffrey Sau brought home a silver for math and Regina Ngo brought home a gold for best on team. Good job, Lions!

 

Congratulations to our very own Mr. Boyd for being named the Orange County Girls Soccer Coach of the Year!

In yesterday’s badminton match, the Lions were victorious over the Gladiators of Gahr. Varsity with a score of 17-4 and JV with a score of 14-1. Great Job and good luck today against Loara!

 

Hey Juniors and Seniors! Prom is just around the corner. Enjoy A Night in the Spotlight as we celebrate old Hollywood at Soka University on Friday, April 27th. Don’t miss out on the flash sale when we return from spring break. Our lowest ticket prices of $70 for individuals and $135 for couples are for one day only- on April 11th. Pick up your dance contracts in G-1 today.

 

Make-A-Wish Club is hosting a toy drive throughout this month to bring joy to children with life-threatening conditions at CHOC Hospital! There will be a prize for the person who donates the most. Toys can be dropped off in room G3!

Attention Seniors: Your world language teacher has the list of students who have qualified for the Seal of Biliteracy award this year. Come and talk to your teacher to see if your name is on the list! If you are not enrolled in a World Language class this semester but you think you have met the award requirements, see Mrs. Prado or Mrs. Machado as soon as possible because you might need to apply for this award and the deadline is March 30.

 

Hey Lions! The Risen Christian club will be meeting today at lunch in room N-12 and we would love to have you join us! Pizza is provided so you don’t need to take time to buy your lunch, just come!

Ever wanted to be a part of the Nationally ranked Lion’s cheer team? Well, now is your chance! Cheer tryouts will be held after spring break and tryout packets are available now! Please see Mrs. Brownell in J25 or Mrs. Grieco in T1 to pick up one today!

!! Watch UNIQUE and AMAZING cultural performance, taste delicious food from around the globe, or play traditional games! Tickets are on sale NOW in the finance office- $3 for ALL WHS students, $5 for non-WHS students and $7 for adults. You won’t want to miss out on this funfilled night.

 

The WHS Library now has four new big, beautiful computers each with a scanner! They have the complete Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office. Come in and try them out.

 

Attention Lions!!! Dodgeball Tournament sign ups are happening now!! Sign ups are online (check your email!) through Friday, March 30th. Remember, teams are a max of 6 players, must be coed teams, and cost is $6 per team. Space is limited, so sign up quickly!

 

Attention Lions: Don’t forget that your library is open for full library services until 4:00 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays! And as long as you are quiet the credit recovery teachers will let you stay as late as 6:00 pm on Monday through Thursday.

 

Hey lions! Craving something sweet to kick off the last day of school before spring break? Then come out in front of the gym this Friday after school to buy some Krispy Kreme donuts to support the Habitat for Humanity Club raise money to help the homeless residing in the Santa Ana Civic Center! DONUT miss out on this sweet way to give back to your community!

It’s time to return your course selection card and any AP/Honors agreement or summer school form to the black box in the Attendance Office asap if you have not already done so. Otherwise, your Guidance Specialist will be randomly selecting classes for you for next school year.
