Good Morning Lions!

 

R – Read and write daily.

 

Boys Volleyball swept Loara in their last league match. Varsity finished 25-12; 26-24; 25-23. Top scorers were Paul Cao (15 kills); Paul Nguyen (10 kills); Setter, Huy Van, led in Assists; & Libero, Derek Truong’s led Defense. Varsity ended league play 9-1. JV lead early & never looked back, winning 25-14 & 25-13! Top scorers were Thomas Pham (8 Kills); Kevin Le (5 kill); Setter Anh Vo led Assists & Libero, Jordan Dinh led Defense. JV went UNDEFEATED!

 

The Yearbook cover has you on it! That’s right…If you bought a Super Leo then you get to be on the cover of your own Yearbook for free. Others can do it too, but it will cost you $5. It’s a two-day special and that is Tuesday and Wednesday of this week only in room K-1 from 7:15 am until the end of lunch. This year’s theme is Super hero and Comic Books, but you are not required to dress in any certain manner. We are the only school that does this. Don’t delay…be on the cover today!

 

The Junior Ambassadors, a nonprofit organization, are helping the low income mothers in Orange County mothers who are in need of baby and maternity items. We will give the items we need like diapers, wet wipes, diaper cream, baby powder, sock, and underwear. However, we are in need of your help and donations to give back. So please donate the items we need to the donation box located at the office. The last day to donate is May 4th. Thank you for your cooperation!

 

ATTENTION SENIORS – The Fines List has been posted for Seniors currently owing fines. Please check the Finance Office window (G1) to see if you currently owe any fines. Now is the time to work to clear them.

 

El Club de Español invites you to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with us! On Friday May 4th we will have a Kermes in the Cafeteria from 5 to 8 pm. With just $1 you get your first raffle ticket and you can win more through the event while you enjoy some Mexican food and the awesome entertainment we have lined up for the night! Bring your friends and family and celebrate with us! Remember Friday May 4th from 5 to 8 in the Cafeteria! Los esperamos!!

 

Attention self-motivated students with busy schedules. We may have hybrid/online options for the following courses next year: Health, Spanish 2, ERWC, Literature and Modern Media, and AP Research. If you plan to take one of these courses and want to learn more about the hybrid/online option, you must come to the mandatory orientation today at lunch in the library.

 

This message is for all students. On Wednesday, May 2nd, all seniors will be taking the California Science Test from 8 AM to 10 AM. 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students are not required to be at school until 10:07 for zero period and 10:37 for first period.

 

Attention students! The Westminster City Council is currently seeking qualified applicants to serve on the Youth Committee. If you care about your community and wish to offer input to your City Council on behalf of the youth in the City of Westminster, this may be just the opportunity you have been waiting for! See Mrs. Gomez in the College & Career Center, the CCC, for an application!

 

Calling all LGBTQ+ students and their allies, GSA has a meeting today in E7 during lunch. Come by and feel free to be yourself.

 

Seniors, if you’d like to speak at graduation, applications are available in G-1 and due May 15th.

 

Don’t forget to come out to a Stand up to Cancer meeting today during lunch in room G3! Bring your lunch and your friends!

Hey batter batter swing!!! Baseball will battle against the Orange Panthers in our next Game of the Week on TODAY on our home field at 3:15. Come out and show your Lion pride!!

 

Students , Having trouble with your school work? need some advice about college? or just advice in general? then Project HOPE is the program for you. We provide tutoring in all subjects, one on one peer advising, college preparation workshops. ust come to room L-3 every Tuesday afterschool from 3-5:30 and we can get you started. If you have any questions, come by L3 and ask for Mr. Pham or Mr. Burns.

 

Don’t forget to show your college spirit on Wednesday. Wear your favorite college gear!

 

Hey Lions! The Risen Christian club will be meeting Thursday at lunch in room N-12 and we would love to have you join us! Pizza is provided so you don’t need to take time to buy your lunch, just come!
