Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Honduras used to part of Reino de Guatemala. When Mexico declared their independence in 1821, Gabino Gainza called a meeting to vote if they should become independent from Spain. With a 23-7 vote, the declaration of independence, written by Jose Cecilio del Valle and Central American’ countries became independent nations celebrating on September 15 with parades, festival, music and lots of food and fun!. Feliz dia de independencia Centro América!

Hey sophomores, juniors, and seniors! If you’re interested in joining an academic club that would look amazing on your college resume, National Honor Society is having their informational meeting on Friday, September 21st! Grab your friends and come to Room L5 during lunch. Again that is, Friday September 21st in room L5! See you all there!


Attention all Students! Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences will be our guest speaker in the Library at Lunch Friday Sept. 28th. Please see Mrs. Duremdes in the Library Office to sign up. They have a lot of opportunities to offer you after graduation.


Remember the Ring Man will be on Campus Today during Lunch by the Activities Office for Class Ring Orders.


Get ready for our mighty Lions next big football game! We’ll be playing against Whittier this Thursday at Boswell Stadium and the theme is Black Out! Can’t wait to see your black clothes!


Come celebrate the independence of Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Chile, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Nicaragua this Friday September 21 from 4 to 7 pm in buckingham square. Presale tickets all week for $1! We will have music, games and lots of chances to win prizes! Bring extra money to try some of the delicious food we will have for you and your whole family to enjoy!

Hey Lions! The Risen Christian club will be meeting this Thursday at lunch in a new meeting place, room F-6. We would love to have you join us! Pizza is provided so you don’t need to take time to buy your lunch, just come!


Parking stickers are now being SOLD. Stop by the Student Services office to get your application . The price is 60 dollars for the year.

Do you like seeing our WHS staff in action? Come out on Thursday, September 27 at 7:30pm to watch our own staff take on the Power 106 team in a competitive game of basketball! It is $5 with ASB and $7 without, see you all there!


Are you good at designing T-shirts? This is your chance to show off your skills! We will be having a Battle of Boswell T-Shirt Design Contest! This contest starts NOW through next week until Wednesday, and our Lions will be voting for the best! Submissions can be emailed to Ms. Karpinski. Take a chance to design a shirt for the biggest football game of the season!


To everyone interested, BSU will be having an important informational meeting this Thursday, the 20th, during lunch in K-2, Mr.Ibarra’s new room. The meeting is mandatory for members from the previous year. Grab lunch and stop by, you dont want to miss out ! See you Thursday in K-2 !

College Visit Alert! College Visit Alert! The US Military Academy will be on our campus on Friday, September 21st, after school in the College & Career Center. Stop by to speak with officers and cadets to learn about the great opportunities the US Military Academy has to offer!
