The Westminster Lions Basketball Team stole the show last night with a 69-62 CIF First Round Playoff Victory.  The Lions used their speed to force 23 steals, a Lions Playoff record, and tame the Huskies from South Hills High School.

The Lions and Huskies started the playoffs as two evenly matched teams, each averaging just over 60 points per game, and the first half went accordingly. Both teams scored 37 points in the first 16 minutes before Westminster jumped ahead quickly to start the second half and the Lions never looked back.

The Lion Nation came out to support their team and the crowd roared with every layup, three-pointer, blocked shot and steal!  The WHS Entertainment Unit, Cheer, and ASB led the Lion Nation in the bleachers along with lower level boys basketball and the Lady Lions Basketball teams.

Senior Tylor Pham led the team with 18 points and 5 steals.  Freshman Joshua Lee added 16 points and 6 steals. The Lions defense had 23 total steals.  The boys next travel to Jurupa Valley this Friday for a 2nd round Playoff Game.
