Dick Katz

Coach Dick Katz has over 50 years of experience which includes a CIF Championship, multiple trips to the CIF Playoffs, over 10 League Championships, over 600 victories and since returning to the Lady Lion’s Program his fifth straight Goldenwest League Championship (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016).  After leading a record-breaking year (2013), Coach Katz was voted by his peers as the Orange County Coach of the Year for his second time.  In 2014, he was honored once again by being inducted into the Southern California Coaches Hall of Fame.  Coach Katz and his staff were also honored by being selected as the OCO South High School All-Star coaching staff.  His love for not only the sport of basketball but of his players is unmatched.  Coach Katz not only teaches basketball on the court but coaches his players off the court in life.  Coach is a former math teacher and runs a tutorial program for the student-athletes in his program.  Coach Katz instills a great work ethic, morals, and values, all of which lead to his players graduating.  Coach Katz has had several players earn both Athletic and Scholastic Scholarships to such colleges as UNLV, Weber State, Humboldt, Lamar, Grand Canyon, Bethany, La Sierra, CSU Bakersfield, Liberty, UC Riverside, Azusa Pacific University, Wisconsin Christian University and CSU San Marcos.  Coach Katz currently has 7 players playing at the collegiate level.
