Today beloved Children’s author Maurice Sendak passed away at the age of 83. Maurice wrote and illustrated many books over his fifty year career but none as famous or as influential as “Where the Wild Things Are.” Below is a link to a fantastic interview he did with Bill Moyer from 2004, as well as an extremely funny 2-part video of his interview with Stephen Colbert. Lets all Roar our Terrible Roars tonight in honor of his passing.

books due in January?
The WHS Library is now checking books out for three weeks or 15 school days instead of two weeks or 10 school days. At the library we count only school days when calculating the due date so that means weekends and holidays do not count.
Why? Our new online book catalog called “Destiny” www.whslions.net/library has a wonderful feature called Interlibrary Loans or (ILL). Any student or staff member that has created an account in Destiny can borrow books from one of the other schools in the Huntington Beach Union High School District. We changed our check out time to three weeks to make it easier for students and staff to borrow books from the other schools.
Stock up today for your winter break reading.
