AP Environmental Science

Course Description

AP Environmental Science is a course equivalent to a one-semester introductory college course in environmental science. It covers the six general areas of the interdependence of Earth’s systems, human population dynamics, renewable and nonrenewable resources, environmental quality, global change, and environmental decision making. The goal of this course is to provide students with the science knowledge required to understand the interrelationships of the natural world. The national AP Environmental Science exam is offered in May to allow students the opportunity to qualify for college credit and/or advanced placement at the college they will attend.
