In December 2012, 100 parents graduated from Westminster High School’s Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE). Parents attended classes over 12 weeks that helped them understand the high school system, the four-year plan, the importance of grades and grade point average, and the road to the university. Parents also had the opportunity to participate in the Principal’s Forum, where they met our new principal, Mr. Owen Crosby. At the end of the course, before a capacity crowd, parents walked proudly across the cafeteria to receive their WHS Parent Institute diplomas.
Westminster High School started the Latino Family Literacy Project on Tuesday, February 26. Three WHS teachers will conduct the classes in Spanish every Tuesday until April 16.
