CJ Hollingsworth

Head Coach

As a 4 year graduate of The Monmouth College in Monmouth, Il Coach Hollingsworth has led the Westminster Lions Boys Varsity Basketball program since the 2015-16 season. Since then Coach Hollingsworth has amassed 3 Goldenwest League top-3 finishes and 3 CIF playoff appearances with one Quarterfinal appearance in 2017. Coach Hollingsworth teaches an aggressive defensive style and wide open offensive philosophy that has made Westminster High School basketball exciting and highly competitive.

Our Coaches

Marcus Harvey

Assistant Coach

Coach Marcus Harvey started coaching at Westminster HS in 2015. Coach Harvey is a native of Bellflower, CA, where he was a four-year letterman as a member of the Bellflower HS basketball program from 1996 through 1999, and a 2-year letterman in football earning All-CIF Athlete and league MVP honors. Coach Harvey attended Cerritos College before transferring to Chapman University where he led the team in scoring with a 28-point average his junior and senior seasons.

Aaron Wright

Assistant Coach

Coach Aaron Wright, born in Cerritos, CA played his high school basketball at Cerritos high school and graduated in 2011. He then played five years at UC Irvine where he helped lead his team to the first conference championship in school history. Coach Wright wants to help bring CIF and league championships to Westminster HS.

Richard Vargas

Head Coach

Coach Richard Vargas is a new vital coach that brings excellent knowledge of the game to this program. Coach Vargas attended El Modena High School and played three-years on Varsity. Coach Vargas led his team to beat their rivalry, Villa Park for the first time in seven years. He also led his team to the playoff for the first time in 10 years. After his high school basketball career, Coach Vargas came back to coach at his alma mater. Coach Vargas also coached at Pacifica Christian. He has a total of nine years of coaching high school basketball along with coaching D1 players with his travel ball team.

Kevin Huynh

Head Coach

Coach Kevin Huynh was born and raised here in Westminster, California. He played four years of basketball at Westminster High School and graduated in 2017. Coach Kev helped led his senior year to the second round of playoffs for the first time in school history and contributed to set another school record for scoring 100 points in a game for the first time in school history. He came back after graduating to help Coach CJ and the basketball program hoping to bring league titles and CIF championships.
