Information Regarding Student Prescriptions Left with School Nurse

For families who have left student medical supplies/medications with our office, the school nurse will be on campus Friday, 3/20 from 9AM-11AM to return those items to you.  The door at the south end of the front office will be open for this purpose. Note that this is not a health screening; it is an opportunity for families that need the supplies/medications they left with our nurse to reclaim them.  If you do not need those supplies at this time, you are not obligated to come. We hope everyone in our Lion family is staying strong, safe, and healthy.

Lion Families,
By now you have all received communication from Dr. Harwick, our superintendent, regarding school closures for the next two weeks. The first few days of next week, site and district administrators will be meeting to discuss the learning plan for students. We know that this is a very stressful time and we feel it is important to pause for a few days so we can gather information and determine our next steps. For those of you who are a part of our meal program, we are working on a way to continue that for our students and will communicate details early next week. Take this time to relax and get some rest.

We are here for you and will be sending updates regularly.

Mrs. Sabol

It is cold and flu season, with the addition of the new COVID-19 (coronavirus).  To help you all stay healthy here are a few tips to keep in mind:

  • Stay home when sick; a temperature is considered a fever at 100º F.
  • Remain at home until fever has been gone for at least 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medicines.
  • Seek immediate medical care if symptoms become more severe, e.g., high fever or difficulty breathing.
  • Use “respiratory etiquette”; Cover cough or sneeze with a tissue or sleeve.
  • Frequent handwashing is encouraged; wash with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Do not touch eyes, nose, or mouth — germs are often spread this way.
  • Do not share personal items such as food, drinks, pencils and pens.
  • Make sure to get plenty of rest, stay hydrated and eat well.

The HBUHSD is aware of students traveling to various schools for sporting events and field trips.  We are taking precautions, and monitoring this daily through the Orange County Healthcare Agency. Our district is dedicated to keeping everyone healthy during this time period and will most assuredly notify students and their families of any changes that may occur.
