Jessica Krimker is the new Assistant Principal of Curriculum at Westminster High School.  Ms. Krimker comes from Fountain Valley High School where she served as Assistant Principal of Activities for 2 years.

After graduating from Ridgeview High School in Bakersfield, a young Jessica went to UCLA where she planned on becoming an attorney and studied political science.  She enrolled in a Spanish class to meet a requirement for graduation.

“I took three years of Spanish in high school,” she says.  “It was OK – not my favorite.”  After enrolling in the class at UCLA she loved it and changed her major to Spanish and Linguistics.  She decided her senior year in college that she wanted to become a teacher.  “I wanted to help kids realize what they could accomplish through education.”

Ms. Krimker went to work for California Pizza Kitchen after graduating from UCLA.  She traveled across the country opening restaurants for one year before returning to school to complete her teaching credential.  She began her career in education as a long term substitute teacher in 2003 at El Segundo High School.  She taught all levels of Spanish and served as Activities Director there, while obtaining her administrative credential; and in 2009, she became the Assistant Principal of Activities at FVHS.

“When I saw there was an opportunity to come to WHS, I jumped on it.”

After our former assistant principal, Dr. Jacqueline Perez, accepted a position as principal at a school outside of our district, Ms. Krimker applied for the transfer to Westminster.  “When I saw there was an opportunity to come to WHS, I jumped on it,” she says, “I’m very excited to be here.”

As part of her many responsibilities, Ms. Krimker is charged with the daunting task of coordinating the administration of the California High School Exit Exam, STAR and Advanced Placement tests, as well as overseeing the Title I and PELL programs.

Ms. Krimker is married to Ivan, and they live with their dog, Lola.  Ms. Krimker brings close to a decade of experience to WHS and she will begin her doctoral program this fall.

Parents will have the opportunity to meet her at the Freshman Orientation scheduled for Saturday, August 13.
