ELAC

The English Learners Advisory Committee (ELAC) serves as an essential voice in advising the principal and school staff on programs and services for English learners. The committee is comprised of parents of students identified as English Language Learners (ELL), parents of non-ELL students, and school staff, working collaboratively to support the needs of our English learners.

ELAC’s responsibilities include advising the WHS administrative team on matters related to English learners, contributing to the development of the Single Plan for Student Achievement with a focus on ELL students, and helping raise awareness among parents about the importance of regular school attendance, among other initiatives.

ELAC members are elected during the first meeting of the year, all are welcome to attend. The committee meets 3 to 4 times annually. For more information about ELAC, please contact the Title I staff.
