For Parents

Westminster High School’s Title I/PELL Office provides a variety of opportunities for parents to become involved in school.  Prior to the beginning of the school year, Title I/PELL Staff hosts the annual Orientation for Parents of Freshman Students, in English, Spanish, and VIetnamese.  The Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) begins early in the fall semester, offering an informative curriculum by facilitators who enlighten and motivate our parents.  The PIQE workshops are also offered in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese.

The Title I Annual Meeting convenes early in the fall semester, where parents learn, in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese, about Title I and what services are offered from the Title I Office.  The English Learners Advisory Committee (ELAC) also meets several times throughout the year beginning in September.

Westminster High School’s School Site Council holds elections in September, along with the ELAC, to select its members for the year.  Interpreters are available for parents who wish to attend the School Site Council’s monthly meetings.

Title I/PELL tutors and instructional aides are assigned to classrooms during Back to School Night to interpret for parents who speak Spanish or Vietnamese.
